Built by people who
grew up on the touchline

A short paragraph about the team: where they came from, what they have built before, and why this one.

  • Robin Ashford

    Founder & CEO

Rob started his career in Product Marketing at Apple and has since become a serial media-tech entrepreneur who has founded, scaled and exited multiple ventures. These include a $20M sale to the leading social video platform and a $130M merger with an industry leader, now valued in excess of $300M. His career is defined by innovation in the studio and streaming space, in partnership with the major Hollywood studios and cloud providers like AWS and Google.

  • Simon Tucker

    Founder & CTO

Simon is responsible for the full technical stack: the iOS capture pipeline, the cloud video infrastructure, and the tools that let clubs mark goals and key moments and turn raw grassroots match footage into shareable highlights. A prolific native iOS and macOS developer, he has independently shipped and run a portfolio of pro-audio and live-events apps, bringing speed and engineering rigour to a hard, infrastructure-heavy problem.

  • Joel Mishcon

    Founder & Investments

As Founder, Joel manages investor relations for Recap and is responsible for the base the company has today. He founded Chrome Productions in 2002 at twenty-four, after starting out as an extreme sports filmmaker, and is still its Group CEO. As director, producer and executive producer he has made work for Ford, Christie's, Sotheby's and TUI, and for Arsenal, Manchester City Women, the San Francisco 49ers and the UEFA Europa League. He has keynoted at SXSW and IBC.

  • Stephen Parker

    Founder

As Founder, Stephen guides Recap's creative strategy, drawing on 15 years as an award-winning creative, writer and director. He is Executive Creative Director at Chrome Productions, where he has written and directed work for Ford, Gucci, Red Bull, Heineken, Aston Martin, Christie's and TUI, with talent including Julia Roberts, Jeremy Irons, Idris Elba and Cara Delevingne. Recent work includes the global launches of the Ford Mustang Mach-E and F-150 Lightning, built around a virtual production in Unreal Engine in Los Angeles.

  • Gareth Joseph

    Gareth Joseph

    Head of Club Support

Gareth watches the system and answers the people on it. Whatever a club, a coach or a parent runs into arrives with him, and he either fixes it or takes it to whoever can.

  • Darrell Curry

    Darrell Curry

    Head of Commentary

Darrell decides what the commentary calls and when: which moment earns a line, how long it runs, and when the best thing to say is nothing. Pitchside too.

The programmes putting compute, capital and tooling behind Recap.

  • The Google for Startups stand at a conference

    Google for Startups

Turning ninety minutes of phone footage into one highlight takes real compute. Google Cloud runs that work and the programme carries the bill while we scale.

  • The a16z sign outside their office

    a16z, VC Select

a16z and Google jointly pick a handful of AI companies to back each year. Recap came through that process, with capital and cloud on the other side of it.

  • The ElevenLabs mark on the glass of their office

    ElevenLabs

ElevenLabs backs the companies building with generated voice. Recap holds one of their grants, and it pays for the audio under every highlight the app cuts.
